Thanks for your kind words! We are in happy boob mode this evening as he had a good session just before bed – albeit I’m left with the distinct impression that breastfeeding is more of a hobby for him than anything remotely to do with nutrition. Oh well; as long as he keeps smiling it’s fine by me!

OK, just a few appreciative words from an old hand…
First, I really liked your posting.

Second, I have 3 children, now ages 18, 15 and 11. All of them were introduced to both breast and bottle right from the start. And I don’t feel guilty at all for that. I had some problems with breast-feeding as far as pain went, so I supplemented. It was the right choice for all of us, as they were hungry, hungry little hippos – all of them, and I would have spent my life sleepless and topless without formula.

I also got the speeches about “oooh, how can you give your baby that formula? Breast milk is sooo much more natural…” Mostly from women that had been told that smoking was ok during pregnancy by their doctors that smoked during their examinations…

The choices we make as mothers may not be the same ones that everyone else makes, but they are OUR decisions. And we will do what WE feel is best for our children. If they want to breast-feed, then let them have their own children and do it!

Anywhoo, nice post and adorable baby! Obviously a happy little one, so you must be doing SOMETHING right, hunh??
